Pilates with Jenn

Hello Friends!

I’m often asked which I enjoy teaching more, Pilates or Yoga and truthfully, I enjoy teaching both. They both played an important role in my physical health and personal development. I often find myself saying that Pilates saved my back, but yoga saved my soul!

Several years ago I was diagnosed with scoliosis and experienced major back pain. However, soon after my diagnosis, I discovered Pilates and made it a part of my regular fitness routine and it was a game changer! I realised that by fusing strength training, functional movements, stretching, and pilates into my workouts, I reduced my back pain significantly! It was such a transformational experience! I was so inspired by my results, that when I became a Pilates teacher, I knew I had to incorporate these key elements into all of my classes, I call it Functional Pilates. I believe that, whether you have back pain or not, being able to move and function well is important and my classes will help you do that!

I enjoy creating classes that are inclusive, educational, and fun! My goal when I teach is empowerment through self-awareness and acceptance. Helping my clients/students understand how to perform an exercise, why it’s important, how to adjust to suit their body, discover their potential, and mostly appreciate what they can do, well, it’s why I teach!
